The Sargassummonitoring<\/a> website offers an overview of the current situation on the basis of maps and current photos of the beaches of the Caribbean mainland and the islands.<\/p>\n

There is a map of the beaches affected (red markings) by Sargassum (brown algae) as well as one of the beaches not affected (green markings).<\/p>\n

The situation on the beaches of Tul\u00fam seems to have eased considerably in the second half of January, while elsewhere the stinking algae are still piling up into real dumps.<\/p>\n

Even if not every single one of the contributed images can be clearly verified, the website still offers a good overview to all travel willing people.<\/p>\n
